At a glance

Two of the eight ledger rows are on record: deposit limits, including net deposit limits, and support channels with live chat around the clock. Three rows are partly on record, the licence row among them because of a regulatory action dated 4 April 2024. Time-outs, self-exclusion, reality checks and limits other than deposits are not confirmed for the UK: the pages we found on those topics were written for other countries.

bet365 in the Controls ledger

  • On record — the operator publishes it for customers in Great Britain, and the casino file says where and when we read it.
  • Partly on record — published with a gap or a caveat that the casino file explains.
  • Not confirmed — we could not read it on the operator's own pages. It means unknown, not missing.

Which company holds the bet365 casino licence

The casino side of bet365 is licensed to Hillside (UK Gaming) ENC, a business based in Ta' Xbiex, Malta, under Gambling Commission account 55149. Its Casino Remote licence has been active since 17 October 2019, and the register read on 28 October 2026 still showed it as active and current.

The operator names this company itself. Sections 2.1 and 2.2 of its terms say that casino, live casino and poker are provided by Hillside (UK Gaming) ENC and quote account number 55149. That is the match we look for: the company in the terms is the company on the register, under the same number.

The sportsbook is a separate matter. It is licensed to a sister company, Hillside (UK Sports) ENC, under account 55148. If you use both sides of one bet365 account, two licence holders sit behind it. For anything about a casino, live casino or poker session, the business responsible to you is the one holding account 55149, and that is the name to use if you ever need to raise a complaint.

The domain on the register is bet365.com. The casino itself runs on casino.bet365.com, which is a subdomain of that registered address, so the part of the address you should see before the first slash ends in bet365.com.

The April 2024 regulatory action, in plain terms

On 4 April 2024 the Gambling Commission published a regulatory action against Hillside (UK Gaming) ENC. The licence holder made a payment in lieu of a financial penalty of £343,035, and the Commission issued a public statement. The action relates to breaches of anti-money-laundering and social-responsibility rules during 2021 and 2022.

A payment in lieu is a settlement: the licence holder pays a sum instead of the Commission imposing a formal penalty, and the public statement sets out what went wrong. The licence was not withdrawn. On the day we read the register it was active, and this was the only action listed for the account in the 2024–2026 window.

In the Controls ledger this action moves the licence row to partly on record. That follows a fixed rule applied to every operator in the ledger: any regulatory action dated 2024 to 2026 marks the row as partly on record, whatever its size. It is a dated fact, not a judgement about how the casino works today, and you can read the same entry on the register's actions page for account 55149.

Opening an account: age and identity first

Every licence holder in Great Britain has to confirm that a customer is 18 or over, and who they are, before that customer can gamble. The Gambling Commission's position is that these checks belong at the start, not at the moment a withdrawal is requested.

The bet365 terms contain an Account Verification section (section 6). We noted that the section exists but did not analyse its detailed wording, so the age and identity row stays partly on record. We cannot tell you from our reading which documents bet365 may request or when.

What you can do yourself is simple. Register with your own name, date of birth and home address exactly as they appear on your documents, and pay in with a method held in your own name. Mismatched details are one of the things that can lead to further checks later, so getting them right at the start can save a delay at the end. Then read section 6 of the terms before your first deposit so the rules on documents are not a surprise.

Deposit limits at bet365: what is on record

This is the clearest control in the bet365 file. Its UK help page describes deposit limits that can be set by day, by week or by month, plus a net deposit limit. The same page says that reducing a limit takes effect at once.

The two kinds work differently. A deposit limit sets a ceiling on the money you put in over the period you choose, whatever happens to it afterwards. A net deposit limit looks at deposits minus withdrawals over the period, so it tracks how much of your own money has stayed in the account. Used together, a plain deposit cap works as a hard ceiling and a net figure as a second line.

The point about reductions matters more than it looks. When a lower limit applies straight away, a decision you make in a calm moment cannot be undone by a less careful one later the same evening. How bet365 handles a request to raise a limit is not part of what we recorded, so we do not describe it here.

From 31 October 2025, every licence holder in Great Britain must prompt a new customer to choose a deposit limit before money first goes in. Treat that prompt as the moment to choose a real figure — the sum you would happily spend on a pastime, knowing it will not come back as income.

  • On record: daily, weekly and monthly deposit limits; net deposit limits; reductions apply at once.
  • Not confirmed: loss limits, stake limits and session-length limits on the UK help pages we read.
  • Rule of the market: whatever the operator's own tools, an online slot spin can cost no more than £5 — and £2 for those aged 18–24.

Time-outs, self-exclusion and reality checks: only non-UK pages found

When we looked for bet365's pages on time-outs, self-exclusion, session limits and reality checks, the material we found was written for other markets — a document for Spain and pages for Ontario in Canada. We did not find the versions for customers in Great Britain.

We do not carry those pages across. Each regulator sets its own requirements, so periods, names and wording can differ from one country to the next, and quoting a Spanish or Canadian page as if it applied here would be guesswork. That is why three rows — time-out and self-exclusion, play reminders, and other limits — are not confirmed.

Not confirmed means we could not read it, not that the tool is missing. One protection does not depend on bet365's pages at all: GAMSTOP, the national self-exclusion scheme, covers every online licence holder in Great Britain. One registration locks you out of all of them together, and you pick the length: 6 months, 1 year or 5 years.

  1. Look in your account first Once logged in, check the account or safer gambling menu for a time-out or self-exclusion option and note the periods offered.
  2. Ask live chat to point you to it Support is available around the clock; ask where the UK time-out and reality check settings sit and keep a copy of the reply.
  3. Use GAMSTOP for a wider block If you want a break from every online casino, not only this one, GAMSTOP is the route that covers all licence holders.

Paying in and taking money out

Two payment routes are confirmed on bet365's UK help page: debit card and bank transfer. Other methods may well exist, but we could not confirm them on the operator's own pages, so we do not list them. No licence holder in Great Britain may take a credit card payment for gambling; that ban has applied since 14 April 2020.

For withdrawals, the same page sets a range of £5 to £20,000 per request by debit card and £5 to £100,000 by bank transfer. It also says some payments can take up to 2 banking days to arrive. We show that only as the operator's own estimate; your bank, the method and any checks on the account all play a part.

The withdrawal row is partly on record because the published detail covers those two methods only. How bet365 routes a withdrawal back to the card or account you deposited from is not part of what we could confirm. One rule needs no confirmation: since 31 October 2021 no licence holder may let you cancel a withdrawal once requested, so a request cannot be pulled back into your balance and played again.

The withdrawal path below summarises the stages in the operator's words, from verification to payment.

Withdrawal path

Verification, request, processing, payment — in the operator's own words, summarised. Any timing is the operator's estimate, not a promise from us.

  1. Verification

The terms include an account verification section (section 6); its detailed wording was not analysed.

  2. Request

For debit cards the withdrawal range is £5 to £20,000; for bank transfer £5 to £100,000.

  3. Processing

bet365 lists a processing window of 1–4 hours for debit card and bank transfer; we treat this as the operator's estimate, not a promise.

  4. Payment

Some payments can take up to 2 banking days to arrive, according to the same page.

Paying in, as the operator describes it: Debit card and bank transfer are confirmed on its UK help page; other methods were not confirmed.

Controls the operator lists

  • Deposit limits (day, week, month)
  • Net deposit limits
  • Reductions apply straight away

Support channels: Live chat 24/7, webform, social media 24/7, post to Stoke-on-Trent.

Support channels and opening hours

Support is the second row that is fully on record. bet365 lists live chat 24 hours a day, a webform, social media channels that are also listed as open 24/7, and a postal address in Stoke-on-Trent. Both channels and hours are published, which is what the row asks for.

If something goes wrong, keep the evidence as you go: save chat transcripts, note dates and times, and take screenshots of any balance or message that matters. A complaint starts with the operator. Should 8 weeks pass without an answer you accept, the operator's terms name an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) body that will look at the case free of charge. The Gambling Commission takes reports about licence holders but does not settle individual disputes. Our complaints and ADR guide walks through each step.

Checks to make before you register with bet365

Most of what follows takes a few minutes and does not depend on trusting us. It uses the register, the operator's own terms and the tools every licence holder must offer.

  1. Check the address Make sure the casino address ends in bet365.com before you type any personal details; look-alike addresses are not covered by this file.
  2. Read the register entry Search the public register for account 55149, confirm the Casino Remote licence is active and open the actions page to read the April 2024 statement for yourself.
  3. Set the deposit limit first Use the prompt before your first deposit to set a daily, weekly or monthly figure, and consider a net deposit limit as well.
  4. Find the UK break tools Locate the time-out, self-exclusion and reality check settings in your account, or ask live chat, before you need them.
  5. Read section 6 of the terms Know what the verification section asks for so that documents are ready before any withdrawal.
