The Controls ledger, row by row

Zoraveli can earn a commission when someone opens an account through a “Visit site” link. That money may decide which operators appear in this ledger; it never sets the state of a row, the facts in a casino file or the order of the list. 18+ only. Advertising and payment

  • On record — the operator publishes it for customers in Great Britain, and the casino file says where and when we read it.
  • Partly on record — published with a gap or a caveat that the casino file explains.
  • Not confirmed — we could not read it on the operator's own pages. It means unknown, not missing.

Rows follow the start date of each operator's current Casino Remote licence, earliest first; where two dates match, the lower Gambling Commission account number goes first. A higher place says nothing about quality. How each row is marked

How to read the Controls ledger

The table above gives every operator the same eight rows. Each row asks one plain question: does the operator publish this control for customers in Great Britain, and can we point to the page and the date we read it? The answer is one of three states, and nothing is added up into a total, a grade or a winner.

On record means the operator describes the control on its own UK pages — a help article, its terms or its safer gambling hub — and the casino file names that source. Partly on record means something is published with a gap: contact channels without opening hours, withdrawal limits for two payment methods but not the rest, or an active licence with a regulatory action on the register. Not confirmed means we could not read it on the operator's pages when we checked.

That third state is a statement about our reading, not a verdict on the casino. A page may have been blocked from our location, drawn by a script we could not read, or written for another country. The tool may well exist; we simply cannot show you where the operator says so. Casumo is the clearest case: seven of its eight rows are not confirmed because its pages did not open for us on 28 October 2026. Promotional offers, timings and impressions are not part of the ledger at all.

Why the list follows licence dates

The six licence holders appear by the start date of their current Casino Remote licence, oldest first. LeoVegas and BoyleSports both date from 1 November 2014, so the lower Gambling Commission account number settles it: 39198 before 39469. Kwiff follows from 1 December 2016, bet365 from 17 October 2019, Buzz Casino from 31 March 2023 and Casumo from 21 December 2023.

Anyone can check this order on the public register, and it neither rewards nor punishes a row. A licence held since 2014 says nothing about how clearly an operator explains its limits, and a recent date can simply follow a change of company: Casumo's earlier licence holder, Casumo Services (account 39265), is shown as surrendered. Reading the list from top to bottom is not reading a league table. Commission and advertising are explained in how this site works.

What every Gambling Commission licence already requires

Some protections do not depend on which operator you pick. Wherever a casino company is registered, it must hold a Gambling Commission licence before it takes a stake from a player in Great Britain — four of the six licence holders here are registered in Malta or Ireland. Each of them has to meet the same floor:

  • Age and identity before play. Checks must happen before you can gamble, and free demo versions of games are meant to sit behind an age check too.
  • A limit prompt at sign-up. From 31 October 2025, anyone opening an account is asked to choose a spending limit before paying in for the first time.
  • GAMSTOP. Every online licence holder takes part in the free national self-exclusion scheme, with periods of 6 months, 1 year or 5 years.
  • No credit cards. Paying for gambling by credit card has been banned since 14 April 2020.
  • No reversing a withdrawal. Since 31 October 2021, operators must not let you cancel a withdrawal request and put the money back into play.
  • Slot stake caps. a £5 ceiling per spin from 9 April 2025; from 21 May 2025, 18–24-year-olds are held to £2 — see slot rules explained.

Limits and breaks: two different kinds of control

Most of the ledger covers controls you set for yourself. Limits cap something while the account stays open: deposits per day, week or month, losses, stakes or session length. Breaks stop play altogether: a time-out pauses the account for a short spell, and self-exclusion closes it for months or years.

Operators describe these tools differently, which is why deposit limits and other limits have separate rows. LeoVegas lists deposit, net deposit, stake, loss and session limits. Buzz Casino lists a Deposit Limit and a Loss Limit. bet365 sets out daily, weekly and monthly deposit limits plus net deposit limits, and says a reduction takes effect at once. Kwiff explains deposit limits over 24 hours, 7 days and 30 days. At BoyleSports, Kwiff and bet365, loss or stake limits were not confirmed on the pages we could read.

On breaks, LeoVegas and Buzz Casino both describe a time-out from 1 day to 6 weeks; at Buzz it covers the casino and the bingo site together. Kwiff pairs a Time Out lasting up to 6 weeks with self-exclusion for anything between 6 months and 5 years, and BoyleSports lists Take a Break and Self-Exclusion. The bet365 pages we found were written for other countries, so its UK row stays not confirmed. The guide to limits and time-outs explains each tool.

Withdrawal rules: the path your money takes

Withdrawal delays are what players complain about most often to the Gambling Commission, so the ledger looks at published rules rather than promises. Each casino file follows the same four stages:

  1. Verification The operator confirms who you are. UK rules expect this before you play, yet documents can still be requested later — BoyleSports says it may ask for proof of age, address and bank account at any time.
  2. Request You ask for a sum above the minimum: £5 at bet365 and Buzz Casino, £10 at LeoVegas and Kwiff, £/€10 across all methods at BoyleSports. Once made, the request cannot be reversed.
  3. Processing The operator reviews the request and sends the money back to the card, account or wallet it came from — the closed loop. Buzz Casino notes that Paysafecard is for deposits only.
  4. Payment Your bank, card or wallet credits the sum. Any timescale in a casino file is the operator's own estimate and is labelled that way.

The parts of the terms worth reading first

Casino terms run long, but the sections that matter most are short once you know their names: the licence holder near the top, verification, withdrawals, charges for inactive accounts and closing an account. Note the version and date too — LeoVegas labels its UK terms version 6.1, dated 24 June 2026.

Then compare the licence line with the register. LeoVegas names LeoVegas Gaming PLC and account 39198; bet365 names Hillside (UK Gaming) ENC, account 55149, for casino, live casino and poker; Kwiff describes an umbrella licence, 44448, under which Kwiff Ltd trades as a named agent. For BoyleSports and Buzz Casino we could not read the licence line on the sites themselves, so both licence rows are partly on record. The guide to reading casino terms takes you through a ten-minute read.

Regulatory action and where it appears

The Gambling Commission publishes the outcome of its enforcement cases on each licence holder's register entry, under regulatory actions. An entry can record a financial penalty, a payment in lieu of one, a warning or extra licence conditions, and at worst suspension or revocation, each with a date and a short public statement.

One operator in the ledger has an entry for 2024–2026. On 4 April 2024, bet365's casino licence holder, Hillside (UK Gaming) ENC, made a payment in lieu of a financial penalty of £343,035, with a public statement, for breaches of anti-money-laundering and social responsibility rules in 2021–2022. Its licence remains active, and that entry is why its licence row reads partly on record. For LeoVegas, BoyleSports, Kwiff, Buzz Casino and Casumo, the register read on 28 October 2026 shows no regulatory action for 2024–2026.

Checking a licence holder on the register yourself

You do not have to take this page on trust. The Gambling Commission's public register of businesses is free to search:

  1. Find the account number Look in the footer or terms of the casino site for the licence holder's name and account number. If neither is there, slow down.
  2. Open the licence summary Search the register by that number and check that the Casino Remote licence is active under the same company name.
  3. Read the domain list The address in your browser should be among the web addresses declared there.
  4. Open the actions section Read the dates and statements of any regulatory action.
  5. Check the address bar Look-alike addresses copying well-known brands exist. Type the address yourself or use a saved link.

When gambling stops feeling like entertainment

Gambling is something you pay for, like a night out, never a way to earn — and the controls in this ledger exist because it does not always stay that way. If you are spending more than you meant to, chasing losses or hiding your play from people close to you, the National Gambling Helpline is free and answers at any hour, and one GAMSTOP registration shuts you out of every online licence holder in Great Britain.

Our page on support and self-exclusion gathers the free services, bank gambling blocks and blocking software, with no operators and no sign-up links. For a dispute with an operator, use its complaints process first; after eight weeks an unresolved complaint can go to the alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider named in its terms, as the guide to complaints and ADR explains.

Questions readers ask

Is the Controls ledger a ranking of UK casino sites?

No. Operators appear in the order their current Casino Remote licences began, and there is no overall score. Being listed first means an older licence date, nothing more.

What does “not confirmed” mean for me as a player?

We could not read that control on the operator's own pages when we checked, so we cannot show you where it is described. It does not mean the control is missing. Look for it in the operator's help pages, or ask its support team, before you register.

Do all UK casino sites have to offer a deposit limit?

Every licence holder must tell players about its safer gambling tools, and from 31 October 2025 anyone opening an account is asked to pick a spending limit before paying in for the first time. Which other limits sit alongside it varies by operator, as the ledger shows.

Can I cancel a withdrawal after I have requested it?

No. Since 31 October 2021, operators licensed in Great Britain must not let players reverse a withdrawal request. LeoVegas, Kwiff and Buzz Casino state this on their own pages.

Why is bet365's licence row only partly on record?

Its terms name Hillside (UK Gaming) ENC and account 55149, and the licence is active, but the register shows a regulatory action dated 4 April 2024: a payment in lieu of a financial penalty of £343,035.

How current is the information?

We read the Gambling Commission register on 28 October 2026 and re-read it before each update of a casino file. Operator pages carry their own dates, listed in every file.

Can Zoraveli sort out a problem with my casino account?

No. Only the operator can see your account. Raise the problem with its complaints process first; if eight weeks pass without a resolution, the ADR provider named in its terms can review the case free of charge.

Sources and dates

The licence row and the licence dates come from the Gambling Commission public register of businesses, read on 28 October 2026. The other seven rows come from each operator's own pages for customers in Great Britain; every casino file lists the pages and the dates we read them.

  • LeoVegas — 30 September 2026 (operator pages) and 28 October 2026 (register)
  • BoyleSports — 28 October 2026 (register and support articles updated 23–28 October 2026)
  • Kwiff — 28 October 2026 (register and help articles dated 2023–2026)
  • bet365 — 28 October 2026
  • Buzz Casino — 28 October 2026
  • Casumo — 30 September 2026 (UK page) and 28 October 2026 (register)
